Meriem - Dream Interpreter
Privacy policy
Effective October 13, 2026
Meriem - Dream Interpreter (iOS and Android, package com.visionquiet.meriem_dream) is developed by AKRO-in. d.o.o. ("we"), which is responsible for your data. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
At a glance
- No email, phone number or password: your account is anonymous.
- Nothing goes to AI until you tap Yes, share.
- Delete a dream, or your whole account, any time in the app.
- We don't sell your data.
What we collect
- An anonymous account. The app signs you in anonymously (Firebase Authentication) and gives you a random account ID. We don't ask for your email, phone number or password.
- What you tell us in the app: the name you'd like Meriem to use, gender (optional), date of birth, and your onboarding answers (what you're looking for, what's on your mind, how often you remember dreams, recurring dream themes, how your dreams feel), plus your app language.
- Your dreams: the dreams you write, Meriem's readings, and the questions and answers in your conversations about them.
- Choices kept on your phone: your language and design, and whether you agreed to share with AI. These stay on the device.
- Purchases: your subscription status and purchase history, provided by the App Store or Google Play through RevenueCat, linked to your account ID. On iPhone, RevenueCat also receives Apple's ad attribution token (AdServices), which tells us whether an Apple Search Ads ad led to the install. We never receive your payment card details.
- Usage data: app events such as screens opened, onboarding steps, readings requested and purchases, with your account ID, an app-instance ID, device model, operating system, app version, language, approximate location (country, region and city, worked out from your IP address) and a few profile answers (gender, main goal, subscription status) (Google Analytics for Firebase).
- Advertising measurement: app installs and opens, completed sign-ups, trial starts and purchases (with amount and currency) are reported to Meta (Facebook App Events) to measure our ads. On iPhone, the app asks whether you allow tracking: if you do, Meta can use your device's advertising identifier; if you don't, events are sent without it and marked as not to be used for tracking. On Android, Meta can use your device's advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your device settings.
- Support and feedback: messages you send through Support & feedback, your email address if you add it, and technical details that help us answer (account ID, purchase ID, subscription status, app version and platform). When you rate a reading, we receive your rating and reason, and your dream and the reading only if you choose to include them.
- App integrity, settings and updates: device attestation (Firebase App Check with Apple App Attest or Google Play Integrity) to protect our services from abuse; app settings from Firebase Remote Config; and when the app checks for an update, our update server receives the app version, platform, a random device identifier used only for updates, and whether it's a store, TestFlight or test build.
- Refund requests: if you ask Apple for a refund, Apple asks us how the purchase was used. We tell Apple whether readings were delivered (based on how many dreams the account has) and keep a record of the request.
Sharing with AI
Meriem's readings and answers are written by OpenAI's models. Nothing is sent to OpenAI until you agree. Before your first dream or question is sent, the app asks Share with AI? If you choose Not now, nothing is sent and your dream stays in the app.
- When you send a dream for a reading, your dream, the name you gave, your gender, birth year, onboarding answers (how your dreams feel, what you're looking for, what's on your mind, recurring themes) and app language go through our server (Firebase Cloud Functions) to OpenAI.
- When you ask a follow-up question, your question, the dream, Meriem's reading, your recent conversation about it and your name are sent the same way.
- OpenAI processes this for us as a service provider through its API. It does not use it to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse before deleting it.
- Withdrawing consent: delete your account in Profile → Delete account. This deletes your data and resets the choice, so the app asks again before anything is sent. You can also write to us. Withdrawing doesn't affect what was already sent.
How we use it
- To write your readings and answers (with your consent, above).
- To keep your dream journal and conversations, and show them in the app.
- To provide Premium, enforce the free daily limit, and answer refund requests.
- To answer support messages and improve readings from your feedback.
- To understand how the app is used and improve it, including testing different designs.
- To measure our advertising, deliver app updates, and protect the service from abuse.
In the EU, we rely on: our contract with you (the app, your journal, Premium, support); your consent (sharing with AI, and tracking on iPhone); our legitimate interests (analytics, ad measurement, app updates and security); and legal obligations (tax and accounting records). We don't sell your data. Readings are for reflection and entertainment, not medical, psychological or professional advice.
Who processes it
Google Firebase (accounts, database, server functions, analytics, remote settings, app integrity), OpenAI (readings and answers), RevenueCat, Apple and Google (purchases and app integrity), Meta (advertising measurement), Cloudflare (website, app updates, and relaying support messages) and our email provider (the support inbox). They process data on our behalf under their own terms and may store it outside your country, including in the United States; where required, transfers rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Your profile, dreams and conversations are kept until you delete them. You can delete single dreams in the journal.
- Deleting your account (Profile → Delete account) immediately deletes your profile, dreams and conversations from our database and removes the anonymous account; the app then starts fresh with a new, empty account. See how to delete your account. Deleting the account doesn't cancel a subscription: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings.
- OpenAI keeps what it receives for up to 30 days. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months. Support messages are kept as long as we need them to help you.
- Purchase and refund records may be kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your choices and rights
- Choose Not now on Share with AI? and nothing is sent to OpenAI.
- On iPhone, allow or stop tracking any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
- You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent, by writing to support@akro-in.si. Include your Account ID so we can find your data; messages sent from the app's Support & feedback screen include it automatically. If you are in the EU you can also complain to your data protection authority; in Slovenia, the Information Commissioner (ip-rs.si).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and stored with Google Firebase, where only your account and our server functions can reach it. There's no password, so anyone who can open the app on your unlocked phone can read your journal.
Children
Meriem - Dream Interpreter is not for children under 13. The app asks for your date of birth and doesn't let anyone under 13 continue. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and show the new effective date above.
